Introduction
Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) is the pioneer manufacturer of electrical goods in
Pakistan. It was established in 1956 in technical collaboration with AEGof
Germany. In October 1978, the company was bought by the Saigol Groupof
Companies. Since its inception, the company has always been contributingtowards the advancement and development of the engineering sector in Pakistan by introducing a range of quality defined goods and by producing hundreds of engineers, skilled workers and technicians through its apprenticeship schemes and training programs.
The company comprises two divisions:

PEL Refrigerators
The manufacturing ofrefrigerators started in 1986-87 in technical collaborationwith M/s IAR-SILTAL ofItaly. Like the air conditioners, PEL's refrigerators arealso in great demand. Today, PEL Crystal has 30% market share. Its coolingperformance is tested and approved by Danfoss, Germany and its manufacturing facility is ISO 9002 certified by SGSSwitzerland.
Power Division
PEL Power Division consists of three plants. These are Energy Meter Plant,
Transformer Plant, and Switch Gear Plant. All these plants are nowISO
9001:2000 Certified.
PEL Power Division manufactures energy meters, transformers, switch gears,Kiosks, compact stations, and shunt capacitor banks. All these electrical goods are manufactured under strict quality control and in accordance with international standards
